NO MORE TEARS

I can tell by the redness of your eyes, and I can tell by the dampness on your shirt
That all the tears that for so long you've held inside, are now but flowing rivers outwardly from your hurts.

So allow me to wipe your tears away,
on the edges of my sleeve
So that the hurts that you now carry, will flow from you and dampen me.

The quiver of your lips, and the streaks that line your cheeks
Come from the rivers of your heart, that lies so deeply underneath.

They flow outward to relieve the hurt, that’s so desperately wants to leave
So allow me to take your hurts, on the edges of my sleeves.

I will hold them with understanding, and I will always keep them close
So you’ll remember I’m always near,
each time you need me most.

But on the day that my sleeves do dry, and your tears no longer flow
When the redness leaves your clear black eyes, because you willed them hurts to go.

Then we will change our tear stained shirts, and dress again in loving’s clothes
We will wash out the stains of all them hurts, and allow them to drain where the dirty water flows..
